This call for action by David Harvey, who is trying to show here the connection of all the individual struggles against neoliberalism, is related to my last post on accumulation by dispossession. 

Accumulation by Dispossession

I would like to share the following clip from David Harvey's final lecture in his Reading Marx's Capital series which can be watched here for free! It is an open course consisting of a close reading of the text of Karl Marx's Capital Volume I in 13 video lectures by Professor David Harvey. He reformulates Karl Marx' argument of accumulation by dispossession or primitive accumulation ("ursprüngliche Akkumulation") as the historic basis needed for the creation of capitalism into the idea of accumulation by dispossession as an ongoing process and connects it to today's developments in times of the financial crises. He sees the struggles against this form of accumulation in the centre of any oppositional force against capitalism today. Enjoy!

Label concerning the G8/G20

Some weeks after the G8/G20 summits in Canada I reactivated the label "G8-Gipfel 2007" I created for posts concerning the G8 summit in Germany back in 2007. I changed the label simply to "G8/G20" and added the ten post I wrote about the latest summits.

Ich hab das alte "G8-Gipfel 2007" Label reaktiviert, um aktuelle Nachrichten über die G8 und G20 fassen zu können. Das Label heißt jetzt einfach "G8/G20".

Zurück in Marburg

Seit heute bin ich knapp zwei Wochen nach meiner Rückkehr aus Québec wieder in Marburg. Jetzt heißt es hart arbeiten, damit ich in fünf Monaten meine Diplomarbeit abgeben und damit mein Studium endgültig abschließen kann. Ich bin also wieder zu Hause und hoffe nach meiner Familie und einigen Freund_innen noch mehr Menschen wiedersehen zu können.
