This short film chronicles the events of September 25-29th in Madrid, Spain where tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets to demand the resignation of the government and an end to police brutality. Many of the protests ended in clashes with the police. Since the stand off began on September 25th , the images of police brutality have travelled the world over, shocking and inspiring people across Europe and leading to an international day of action on September 29th. This film tells the story of why so many people took to the streets and follows these events as they unfolded.

"Juan Manuel Sánchez Gordillo has become the face of the growing protest movement in Spain. The mayor of a small town in Southern Spain called Marinaleda, he has become well-known for leading combative protests and sit-ins, including a protest in a supermarket in which food was taken and redistributed to the poor. But Sánchez Gordillo has backed up his critiques of capitalism with a viable alternative. In his town of Marinaleda, there is full employment, people rent homes for 15 Euros a month, and everybody who works in the agricultural cooperative that was formed, including the mayor, earns the same salary."

Lebenslaute: Klassische Musik gegen Waffen

Das sehen wir wahrlich nicht alle Tage: Menschen, die eher so aussehen als strebten sie dem Konzertsaal zu. Doch statt dessen versammelten sich diese am 3. September 2012 vor den Werkstoren des "tödlichste(n) Unternehmen(s) in Deutschland" (Wirtschaftswoche): dem Waffenhersteller Heckler & Koch, um für Rüstungskonversion statt Rüstungsproduktion aufzuspielen.
